Continuing Professional Development is already practised by the vast majority of homeopaths. It is the sum total of all those activities we engage in to continue to deepen our experience and extend our competence.

CPD is:
- Discussing a difficult case with colleagues
- Researching a new remedy with a patient in mind
- Gathering information from the internet or books about a condition you have not come across before
- Writing a reflective journal
- Going to supervision
- Attending a bookkeeping seminar
- Learning to use some software
- Going to a seminar or conference
- Learning to meditate
- Participating in a proving
- Writing an article for the Journal
- Preparing a first aid homeopathy course

The aim of The Society of Homeopaths’ CPD Department
is to foster a culture in which CPD is seen as an essential part of being a professional homeopath and to develop, facilitate and promote a wide range of opportunities to support members in their CPD. In 2007, the CPD programme:
- Expanded to include a range of new topics presented by experienced homeopaths with particular expertise. These include: Pregnancy and Childbirth; Breast Cancer; Working with Children; Mental health; Postnatal depression; Health coaching; Marketing your practice using the internet.
- Offered one-day CPD Induction workshops to inform and support newly registered members who are participating in the Registration Programme.
- Continues to offer reasonably priced workshops across all regions of the UK, ensuring that events are accessible to all of our members
- Attracted increased numbers of participants at venues across all regions of the UK
CPD Induction Days for New Registered Members
The Society’s system of registration through continuing professional development provides a framework within which practitioners can establish and develop their practice. The CPD Induction Days involve activities specifically designed to support you in understanding how best to benefit from the registration process and help you in the production of your initial CPD plan.
For Newly Registered Members, the cost of the introductory workshop is included in the application package. |
